There are many great walks on the Moors including Minions, a villiage steeped in history. It is the highest villiage in Cornwall and is situated to the east of Bodmin Moor. This very unique landscape is dramatic, captivating and fascinating. Surrounded by breathtaking views, wildlife and the remains of Cornwalls industrial and prehistoric past, This walk will not disappoint!!
Golitha Falls is a hidden gem! An area of Natural Outstanding Beauty also to the east of the Moors. This woodland has some of the best river walks in the county thanks to its natural gauge and the babbling River Fowey flowing through.
Explore charming moorland villages such as St. Neot, known for its beautiful stained-glass windows and dating back to 1425. Also, St Nonna Church in the pretty Villiage Altarnun, often called the "Cathedral of the Moor" and dating back to the 15th century. Each village has its own story, traditional pubs, and a warm Cornish welcome.
After some exploring, relax in one of the Moor’s most interesting traditional pubs. We will be stopping at the charming Old Inn in St Breward. The Inn is the highest public house in Cornwall at around 720 feet above sea level.. Parts of the Inn is reported to date back to11th Century and there are buildings in the villiage that are listed in the Domesday Book.
Bodmin Moor is a haven for wildlife lovers. Look out for wild ponies, deer and Highland cows. Also rare bird species such as Eurasian blackbird, Northern Lapwing' There have been some sightings of the rare White-tailed Eagle. All this and more as you travel through this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
